Overview Last Recital

Aarohan presented its 6th annual recital and it was a show with a difference as Amrita chose as its theme songs of Tagore and Rehman which she poured beautifully into the classical mould which constitutes the essence of her teaching. The students performed with aplomb such creations of Tagore as Mayabonobiharini horini, which was a fusion accompanied with great enthusiasm by the band and Sajani Sajani from Tagore's immortal saga of the divine love between Radha and Krishna. The Rehman songs included such hits like Dil hai Chota Sa, Dil se and Dheeme Dheeme which the singers did full justice to.Worth a special mention are the junior tabla players,a new addition to the school, who captivated us with their extremely rhythmic performance displaying tremendous mastery over the instrument. The grand finale by Amrita too was unique and enthralling as she sang detailing the intricacies of Raaga Gurjari Todi. It was indeed a great show bringing to us the classical heritage of Indian music through different genres of music and thus was a uniquely memorable and enlightening experience.
